For many years Marden Edwards has been known for the Overwrapping of 200s display cartons. This still remains a very important requirement and with outputs greater than 100 Overwraps per minute available, all required production line speeds can be achieved.

Cost Saving with Marden Edwards Tobacco Overwrapper

Collating 20s and 10s packs into 200s has become even more popular as the requirements for cost savings increase.

Replacing the Boxer with a Collator / Overwrapper saves the cost of the outer carton and with the use of high quality printed films produces a very attractive outer Overwrap. Additionally expensive board outer cases for distribution packs of 5000 and 10000 cigarettes can be replaced using a Marden Edwards Stretchbanding system machine which produces a tight bundle Overwrap using low cost PE film.

Production versatility is now key in Tobacco production and Marden Edwards has developed machinery for cigarette packaging that will bundle into 40s, 60, 80s, 100s and 200s on the same system at full line speeds. Again, using printed film a high quality presentation is achieved whilst offering more flexibility for production planning and marketing demands.

As well as cigarette pack overwrapping Marden Edwards has a wide range of experience overwrapping cigar packs, tins of tobacco products, plastic clamshells as well as pouches of rolling tobacco. Products can be wrapped in either film or paper and on many machines the option is available to wrap in both.

Presentation quality of the wrap is becoming ever more crucial and to ensure a skin tight wrap Marden Edwards has developed the Shrink Tightener machine. Capable of producing a high quality finish at a low temperature the Shrink Tightener can be integrated into a Marden Edwards Overwrapper or be positioned in a free standing mode anywhere on the production line.
