Der Kaffee ist ein in Europa sehr beliebtes Getränk,

welches in vernünftigen Dosen (3-4 Tassen pro Tag) konsummiert wird und sehr wenige bis gar keine Nebeneffekte aufweist.

Wenn sie an einer der genannten Nebenwirkungen leiden, reduzieren Sie bitte ihren Kaffeekonsum oder trinken Sie gar keinen Kaffee mehr. Warum nicht auf Schwarztee oder Grüntee umsteigen? Auch diese beiden Teesorten haben einen stimulierenden Effekt, doch ist die Konzentration an Koffein (Thein) in diesen Getränken weniger konzentriert.

In der Apotheke findet man den Koffein (Hauptwirkstoff des Kaffees) in zahlreichen Präparaten, wie z.B. um einen schlaffördernden Effekt eines Arzneimittels (z.B. bei Antihistaminika gegen Allergien oder bei Medikamenten gegen die Reisekrankheit) zu kompensieren oder um die Wirkung von gewissen Schmerzmitteln (Paracetamol, Acetylsalicylsäure) zu aktivieren und zu verstärken, damit sie einen schnelleren Wirkungseintritt haben.

Es sollte auch erwähnt werden, dass gemäss einer Studie Frauen weniger oft schwanger werden, welche mehr als 5 Tassen Kaffee pro Tag trinken. Allerdings (siehe Anwendung weiter oben) spielt der Kaffee bei der Prävention zahlreicher Krankheiten eine wichtige Rolle (z.B. Krebs) und so schneidet der Kaffee bei der Nutzen- Risiko- Analyse positiv ab und kann (aus unserer Sicht) empfohlen werden, da der Nutzen für den Konsumenten überwiegen (ausser bei sensiblen Personen, siehe weiter oben).
